We've notice recently that Starlings start to gather in groups in trees at around 2pm in the afternoon. They occasionally fly off and then return back to the same tree - seemingly in ever increasing numbers.
Just before sunset they they fly around in a large flock, twisting and turning in flight making amazing patterns in the sky - especially when there's a nice sunset or red sky too.
We've discovered that these patterns the Starlings make are called 'MURMURATIONS'
