Unfortunately the cyclometer would not respond when we tried it, so we're now trying a BBC microbit instead - luckily it doesn't have too much plastic. You can even rent them from you local library! We were really happy when we found out that it had a cardboard battery pack that you can make. This is what it looks like.
Some of the really cool features it comes with is an internal compass, a moisture sensor that you can put in the ground, a light sensor, a shake sensor and we can also plug other things into it. It's programmable with blocks and python - hopefully everything we need to take our weather station to the next level!!
